Call for Pictures: Help us create the Special Exhibition for 2014!
therese-stoll-04-02-2014: Thanks for your pictures! We recieved 250! Yesterday we picked out 140 photos. It might be that some pics, that are not in print quality, will fall out. We will inform you by the end of February.
Take pictures of the fortress and become a part of our new special exhibition „The fairest one of all! Königstein Fortress in the mirror of art“. The exhibition illustrates the beauty of Königstein Fortress through landscape paintings from 4 centuries. At the same time, Photographs will be depicting the fortress from today’s perspective. For this, we are looking for pictures taken by visitors, which will be installed in the foyer of the exhibition in the format 20 × 30 cm.
In past times, artists used to capture life at the fortress in their paintings, and today thousands of visitors per year do the same with their cameras. Whether you are a passionate snap shooter, a convinced mobile phone photographer or even a semi-professional photo artist – we need your pieces of art!

Pictures for the special exhibition should:
– document your visit to Königstein Fortress
– show you with your friends or family at the fortress
– may well portrait the beauty of the fortress in different seasons
– have been taken within the last 60 years
– have a minimum size of 2398 × 3602 pixels and 300 dpi
– may be in landscape or portrait format
As a little thank you, all donors of a selected picture will be invited to an exclusive guided tour of the special exhibition and will be granted a free annual pass for Königstein Fortress per selected picture. So what are you waiting for? Let’s have your holiday pictures!

By sending in pictures you declare that the pictures are free from the rights of third parties, i.e. that either you have taken them yourself or that you have been granted the creator’s permission as well as of all persons shown in the picture to use them. Participation is open to everyone over 18 years of age. Staff members of Festung Königstein gGmbH are excluded.
Selection of pictures for the special exhibition
Until 07.02.2014, we will make a first choice and will contact the chosen participants. Before the pictures are finally prepared for the exhibition, we would like to sign a permission for use contract for the pictures with the donors, which we would be delighted to send you in advance (from 06.01.2014). The contract specifies the use of your pictures. We reserve the right to edit or cut the pictures for better printability if required.

The chosen pictures will be exhibited during the special exhibition „The fairest one of all! Königstein Fortress in the mirror of art“ from 11.04. to 02.11.2014.
